Cole sits down with Muve Music Sessions to discuss two tracks off of his debut studio album, Cole World: The Sideline Story. Cole speaks on recording "In The Morning" in his apartment when he owed about $6,000 in rent. His landlord, Muhammad (a man he mentions in his raps) believed in his ability and trusted Cole would make it big one day and pay him.

Canibus? Really? You're dissing J. Cole now? This whole thing is so asinine and ridiculous that it hardly bears mentioning. Apparently Canibus took to Facebook the other day to complain about J. Cole, and how, although Cole lists Canibus as one of his major influences, the Roc Nation rap star speaks of Canibus as if he's dead...and Canibus doesn't like this one bit:

"Cole might say he does this to pay homage, but in reality, by him playing my older material owned by my former label dating back to 1998, subsequently overlooking my current works and contributions which directly benefit me now, he is treating me less like an artist that has, and continues to contribute, influence, and inspire an even younger generation of MC’s coming up, and more like an artist that has physically passed on already(i.e. Tupac, B.I.G., Big L, Heavy D, Eyeda [sic]): you get the point I’m trying to make," he wrote. "I can’t help but to think that he is not nearly as sincere or genuine as he would like real hip hop heads to think he is because he speaks about me like I am dead. What he is doing is underhanded and disingenuous and whether it is his idea or not, I don’t agree with his tactic and I have something to say about it."

Canibus is about eight years removed from Rip The Jacker (2003), which means he's about eight years removed from being relevant. Besides being one of the worst diss tracks ever recorded, "J. Clone" marks the sad decline of the once-respected Canibus. Essentially, what Canibus has done, is call out and attack a rising star who's been praising him and listing him as an influence his whole life. Definitely the dumbest thing the repeadetly and incurably dumb Canibus has managed to pull off. If you're curious, give the track a listen below.

Talib Kweli and Yasiin Bey (Mos Def) are set to record their second studio album, nearly 14 years after their debut success, Mos def and Talib Kweli are Black Star (1998). We showed you their two newest singles, Fix Up, and You Already Knew, a little while back. It hasn't been confirmed whether those tracks will be featured on the upcoming project, but the duo has confirmed that they will be heading to Africa in 2012 to record an album. Between now and then, the Brooklyn group plans to release their "Aretha Franklin" mixtape to keep fans satisfied. Updates coming.
